Alba promotes Child Safety. Keep up the great work Alba!
Many plants emphasize the importance of safety within their gates. But, others take it a step farther by supporting safety programs that focus on their nearby communities. Here is a recent story:
Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the leading industrial companies in Bahrain and a well-known aluminium smelter in the world, today, Saturday, April 23, 2016 launched its child safety awareness campaign ‘Make the Right Choice for your Child – Booster seats’.
The Campaign launch was held as a community event in Seef Mall, Seef District, Bahrain in coordination with representatives of the General Directorate of Traffic, Bahrain wherein families were educated about the importance of using booster seats for children in the age group of 4 to 8 years. The families were also given free booster seats along with a demonstration on how to use them correctly.
Speaking about this Campaign, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Murray said:
“Awareness and education about car safety for children plays an important and lifelong role in preventing injuries and fatalities. At Alba, safety is a top priority at all times and we want to spread our belief to the community as well. Through this campaign, we intend to raise awareness about booster seats, which are crucial in significantly reducing the risk of injury in older children.”
Alba will also conduct a three-day programme on its premises from April 24 to 26, 2016, to educate its employees about the use of booster seats for their children. Lectures and presentations will be given by authorities from the General Directorate of Traffic and representatives from Alba’s Safety, Healthy and Health (SHE) department. This three-day programme will be attended by Alba’s Executives, Directors, managers, Alba Labour Union and Alba Trade Union as well as employees from various departments. To further emphasise on its message, Alba will also distribute free booster car seats to its eligible employees.
Further commenting on the campaign, Seef Properties CEO, Mr Ahmed Yusuf said, “Health and safety is among our top priorities and we always welcome companies and organizations to launch such initiatives at our Malls as it is part of our social responsibility and believing in giving back to the society, helping in raising awareness and creating a wide impact on the society. This will in return strengthen our position as the leading family destination in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
In May 2014, Alba had launched its first child safety awareness campaign “Make the right choice for your child’s safety”, which highlighted the importance of using car seats for children.
