The hazard of working around moveable equipment is sometimes forgotten by workers. Here is a recent incident emphasizing the need for caution when working in close proximity to moveable equipment.
On Saturday morning, just on the eve of the workers' day, a serious accident occurred inside the aluminum company ,
a company specializing in the processing of drawn aluminum. A 61-year-old worker, living in the area, was crushed under a
forklift operated by another colleague. The man, transported by
helicopter to the hospital (20 kilometers away): he is not in danger of life
but suffered a serious trauma to a leg that forced the surgeons to proceed with
the amputation of part of the foot.
We pray that the injured worker recovers fully in regards that no medical complications arise. We pray that the injured worker is provide all necessary occupational and physical therapy to be able to live their life with a partial foot.
