"fire broke out... overheating compressor"

Fires in rolling mills can be both dangerous and costly. Here is a recent incident of a fire at a rolling mill.

According to (local fire department), the fire broke out following the overheating of a 20-square-metre compressor, which is useful in the factory's rolling mill line. Significant smoke emissions spread to the ground floor of the European site where the offices and finishing workshops are located. At the time of the incident, 18 employees were on site. They were all evacuated, and no injuries were reported by the firefighters. The plant specializes in the rolling of aluminum sheets and strips.

We are thankful that no one was injured in this incident and that the fire was able to be extinguished before it grew and consumed the rolling line.

Yet again there was a plant evacuation that resulted in zero injuries. It is very important that evacuation drills are carried out. It should be noted that periodically workers should not be forewarned when an evacuation occurs.
