Time Flies With The Aluminium Assoc. Cast House Safety Workshops: UPDATED

Unfortunately 2012 maybe remembered for some horrific incidents in our industry. These incidents revolved around, molten metal, dust accumulation, lock-out tag, movable equipment, etc.  The APSB is confident that each incident will be used as a learning tool in our industry.

No other industry has worked collectively for safety as the aluminium industry has done. Safety education comes in several ways. Each company is required to have a safety program. To assist each company is education that can be obtained from conferences throughout the world.

19 years ago the Aluminium Association started the Cast House Safety Workshops. These two day safety conferences have been held throughout North America and Europe. The conferences have reinforced safety education throughout the industry. It is immeasurable to calculate the number of injures and deaths that have been prevented because of the Aluminium Association's Cast house Safety Workshops.

Next week in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A. another workshop will take place. Here is a link for further information:

The Cast House Safety Workshop was a great success, with over 120 attendees represents over 20 different plants throughout the United States and Canada. The Aluminium Association should be congratulated for putting on a great conference. There is no doubt that the attendees left knowing skills that will make them, as well as their coworkers safer!
