38,000 lb Aluminum Ingot Came Through Cab....

Everyday trucks leave our plants hauling aluminium products. Here is a story of a trucking accident that occurred in the Northeast United States during the week of January 27, 2013.

A truck hit a stopped trailer while hauling a 38,000 pound ingot which broke free. The ingot went through the cab of the tractor. Miraculously the driver was not hurt.

Reports said the experienced truck driver had the proper chains and straps on the ingot. But the truck was moving too fast, and the driver decided to hit the parked trailer to miss a car.

The truck driver lost his job because of this accident.
