The Aluminium Plant Safety Blog loves
positive safety stories. The goodwill that many aluminium plants provided to
their surrounding communities goes mostly unheard outside from their locale. So,
when we are told about a story we smile! Here is a great recent story:
Keeping the recent major fire tragedy of the city based SUM
Hospital which took many lives, a fire fighting training program was organized
by the Aditya Birla Group Company Aditya Aluminium recently in conference hall
of District Head Quarter Hospital of Sambalpur to prevent the fire hazards in
the private hospitals and nursing homes.
This program was inaugurated by Dr Kodand Rao, the Chief Distt.
Medical Officer (CDMO). Dr Panchanan Pradhan, ADMO Sambalpur and Mr Salendra
Singh, HoD Safety & Fire, Mr P M Pattnaik, Dy, Manager Safety of Aditya
Aluminium Plant and the senior officials of the DIstt. Fire Brigade had
participated in the training. All the owners of nursing Homes and Hospitals of
Sambalpur had also participated in this program.
Mr Singh and his team had given a presentation on fire fighting
training and also a mock drill was conducted on fire fighting to check the
effectiveness and efficiency of the training.
We congratulate the Aditya Aluminium Plant on taking the initiative to
prevent another tragedy from befalling their neighboring community. The
Aluminium Plant Safety Blog is very proud of your actions. Keep up the good
work!
We know that your plant has performed a service for your local
community this year. We’d love to hear about.
