The over the
road transport of molten metal occurs countless times without incident. But,
incidents do occur. Here is a recent incident that luckily no one was injured:
A crash
caused the right two lanes of southbound I-69 to close near 116th Street in Fishers
Tuesday, March 13, 2018 around noon.
INDOT told
drivers to expect delays in the area of State Road 37 at the 207 mile marker.
No injuries
were reported.
Officials
say a truck involved was carrying liquid aluminum. Crews had to drain the truck
before moving it.
The lanes
were reopened by 3 p.m.
We believe no one was injured in this incident. This incident could
have been much worse. There have been incidents where over the road transport
wrecks have caused injury and death.
