A worker at an automotive casting plant passed away after succumbing to injuries when a aerial lift he was on collapsed.
"The worker was caught in the mechanisms of a scissor lift across the chest and shoulder area," the local fire chief reported "They had the worker free when we arrived. Our part was to help prepare and load home into the waiting ambulance and into the helicopter. The worker suffered a crushing blow and at that point paramedics were breathing for the worker."
There was a second worker on the lift at the time of the accident. "That worker's injuries were not as life-threatening," the fire chief said "that worker was seriously injured, but much better shape then the other worker" .
