A molten metal spill or
molten metal escaping a container will occur in your plant. How you react when
(not if) it occurs can
In a work accident in the production halls of the aluminium company in Europe one morning during the first week of September a worker was so badly injured that he had to be flown with a rescue helicopter of the Federal Police to a special clinic.
The operative keyword of the control center was at 9:10: "Help with dangerous goods, crucible burst with hot aluminum".
The aluminium company is located in a business park next to a fire station. The company casts-quality components from aluminum. For this purpose, the metal is melted at high temperatures. The melting point of aluminum is 660 degrees. It is still unclear how it came to the accident at work and how severe the injuries of the worker.+

temperature at the solidified aluminum after the work accident.
City fire inspector Meyer reported after completion of the
rescue work that the melting pot was torn for reasons that are not explainable
for him. This liquid aluminum leaked and set the immediate vicinity of the machine
on fire. The machine operator was injured.
The work colleagues would have acted absolutely right and
extinguished the fire and brought the injured out of the danger area, praises
the city fire inspector.
The firefighters who arrived immediately after the alert,
totaling 23, had completely evacuated the factory building and provided for the
smoke extraction in the hall. In this case, a high-pressure fan was used. After
that the fire fighters had to wait until the aluminum cooled.
In addition to the fire department were the crews of two
ambulances and an ambulance on site. The rescue helicopter landed on the site
of the neighboring.
We pray that the injured worker recovers fully from his injuries. It
is unknown to what type and extent of safety clothing the injured worker was
wearing. We pray that the worker was wearing the proper molten and fire resistant
clothing.
