3 people injured in explosion...

The use of annealing and/or heat treating furnaces in our industry is commonplace. For the most part they operate with no incidents. But, when an incident occurs it be disastrous. The Aluminium Plant Safety Blog has posted incidents involving these types of furnaces. Here is a recent incident emphasizing that there is a hazard associated with these types of furnaces.

An explosion occurred at an aluminum factory in South Korea one afternoon during the week of March 15, 2019.

The fire department, which received the report, put in four engines with a total of 14 firemen.

One of the employees near the explosion site was injured by a laceration on the head and the shoulder bones were broken on the broken structure.

Two other employees at the scene were also treated for minor injuries.

The fire department estimates that incomplete combustion gas exploded during the heat treatment process.

"We know that all the injured employees have no disruption to their lives," an official from the fire department said.

We pray that the injured workers recover fully from their injuries. We will update this post if we hear further information on this incident.
