The hazard of electrical shock in our industry is well known. In smelters
the hazard of electrical shock/arc results in numerous injuries and fatalities.
Here is a recent incident highlighting the hazard of electrical shocks.
One morning during the week of September 19, 2021, at the production site of the (city name omitted) aluminum plant, the body of a 30-year-old electrician was found. The investigation understands the causes of the tragedy.
“The investigative bodies of the
Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian
Federation in the region have organized a procedural check,” the official
representative of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee
of Russia, commented to (news media). - Find out all the circumstances of
the incident.
Investigators from the Traktorozavodsky
District of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the
Russian Federation, as well as forensic investigators from the regional
department of the department, work at the scene.
According to preliminary information, a
young employee of the plant was fatally injured at about 10.00. An
electrician performed work in the main switchgear.
The body of the deceased was found by
colleagues. An ambulance crew was called to the scene of the emergency,
but the arrived doctors only had to state the death of the worker. The
original version of death - the man received a strong electrical discharge.
We pray for the
deceased worker’s family, friends, and coworkers. We pray that the area where
the tragedy occurred was videotaped and possibly the incident was recorded.
Then maybe what occurred can be determined and prevented from happening in the
future.
