This story is unusual that it occurred outside an aluminium plant. Luckily no one was injured. Aluminium plants on a daily basis may receive dozens of trucks hauling scrap. One facility in the Midwest United States has on occasion received over 100 trucks in one day. Aluminium companies for the past decade have educated their suppliers on their requirements for accepting scrap. Numerous firms have set up websites with all of the pertinent information on what is and what is not permissible regarding receiving of scrap. Here is the story:
A trailer loaded with scrap aluminum tipped over in front of Roseburg
High School, in Oregon, United States last month, damaging a school fence and closing an
Interstate 5 ramp for almost five hours. The truck was
heading west on Harvard Avenue around 1:45 p.m. when he turned right to go
north on I-5 at Exit 124. Bins filled with the metal shifted, causing the
trailer to tip over, Roseburg police Sargent said. The cab of the
truck, did not tip over, and the truck driver was
not injured. The scattered aluminum closed for approximately six hours. Motorists were advised to use other routes.

Wow, quite a mess in those pics. I'm easger for the growth of scrap metal recycling in Calgary, but there are these dangers that come with growth. Thanks for sharing this.
