Here is a fire that occurred
during the week April 7, 2013. Little information is available.
A
fire has caused an estimated $1 million damage to a cooling tower at Alcoa's
Kwinana refinery in Australia. The tower was undergoing planned maintenance
when the fire broke out. Alcoa staff extinguished the blaze and nobody was
injured. It's believed there will not be any impact to production. An
investigation is underway as to the cause and the relevant authorities have
been advised.
