"the liquid aluminum ran out and triggered the fire"

Yet again we have another incident involving a furnace. This incident emphasizes the importance of training your personnel for emergencies.

A casting furnace caught fire on Sunday night in Germany. The volunteer fire department was alerted shortly before 2 o'clock and moved out with a fire engine. In addition to the police were 25 firefighters and three vehicles (tank fire truck, aerial ladder and fire engine).

The reason for the fire was a technical defect in the shell of the furnace, which heats aluminum to 800 degrees Celsius. The liquid aluminum ran out and triggered the fire . Police say no one was injured. The damage could not be quantified by a spokesman for the local police headquarters. The fire brigade was in action until 4 o'clock, and respirators were needed. It was cleared with sand.

We are glad no one was injured in this incident. Thankfully, this was a small capacity furnace. Why is that important? Because a large capacity furnace would have been serious trouble.
