Eight fire trucks responded to fire...

 

The importance of having a working relationship with your local fire departments is very important. Here is a recent incident emphasizing this topic:

(Town name omitted) firefighters were called out after a fire broke out at an aluminium company.

The fire crews were called to the scene shortly after 2 p.m. one afternoon during the first week of July 2021 in the Midwest USA. 

 

They told (local) News that a piece of machinery caught fire, causing the building to be briefly evacuated. No injuries were reported.

 

From social media:

•  2nd Alarm (town name omitted). Machinery fire spread to the piping. (aluminum company name and location omitted).
• Engine 9 on the initial alarm.
• Structure Fire Assignment: Engines 3, 6, 7, Ladder 24, Battalions 1 and 2
• 2nd Alarm Assignment: Engines 12, 15 and Ladder 22.
• Chief 1 and Arson responding.
• Engine 2 responding downtown to cover at Station 1.

 

We are thankful that no one was injured in this fire. We are ecstatic that the fire departments responded quickly and were able to extinguish the fire. What we found fascinating was just how many departments were needed. A two-alarm fire requires assistance from other departments for a couple more pumpers and ladder trucks. ... The alarms are used to bring in more equipment and manpower due to the size of the building and the amount of fire involved. During this fire eight (8) fire trucks responded. Thankfully, the fire was able to be quickly extinguished. We assume that occurred because there were so many fire fighters on site to quickly knock down the flames. 

We are overjoyed that the aluminum workers safely and quickly evacuated. Good job!
