"(fell) from height of more than two meters..."

Workers have to be repeatedly reminded that failing to following their training or skipping a step can have serious results. Here is a recent incident highlight the hazard of working at height.

A worker was injured after falling from a height of approximately 2.5 meters at an industry in the city of (name omitted). The 43-year-old victim was working on aluminum profiles when he lost his balance and fell.

The Fire Department assisted the worker who was conscious, but disoriented and presenting a cut and injury to the skull, in addition to pain in the lumbar region. After receiving the care given by the garrison, the victim was taken to local hospital.

The news media did not mention what task the worker was performing when the incident occurred. Regardless, any worker working at height should take the necessary precautions as per the local governmental safety regulations to prevent an incident from occurring.

From our experience many of the fall from height incidents occur when a worker “has to quickly do something”. They then fail to follow their training because they think “I can do this quickly and no one will be any wiser.” Workers have to be told repeatedly that no matter how quickly a task maybe completed. All safety procedures have to be followed.

OSHA has some useful information on this topic here.

While the H&SE has some useful on this topic here.

We pray that the injured worker recovers fully from their injuries.
