The use of seatbelts while operating movable equipment should be a requirement at all workplaces. Sadly, this is a recent incident where a worker failed to follow that simple rule. That failure resulted in their death.

In (city name omitted), in the province of (name omitted), a young 30-year-old entrepreneur lost his life due to a tragic accident at work. The man, owner of a company specializing in the processing of profiles and aluminum, was operating inside the company premises when a vehicle he was driving overturned, crushing him and causing his death instantly.

This is (deceased worker’s name), one of the owners of the company that makes PVC and aluminum windows. According to the initial information, he was driving a forklift when the vehicle suddenly overturned, crushing him.

The dynamics of the accident

According to the first reconstructions, the accident occurred during a normal work activity within the company. The 30-year-old, who was driving a vehicle, was unable to prevent the vehicle from overturning. The violence of the accident had a tragic outcome: the young man was crushed by the vehicle and, despite timely rescue, could not survive.

The fire brigade, the (police) and the (ambulance) personnel immediately intervened on the spot. The rescuers tried to extract the man from the overturned vehicle, but unfortunately there was nothing to do.

Ongoing investigations

The competent authorities have launched an investigation to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident and understand if there are any responsibilities on the part of the company or if it is a tragic fatality. The (police) are working to collect testimonies and analyze security camera footage, if they were present.

We offer our sincere condolences to the deceased worker’s family, friends, and coworkers. The position that the injured or deceased has should not matter in our opinion. But, in this tragedy it does. Because the deceased was one of the owners of the company. The deceased should have known the importance of wearing a seatbelt.
