"fell approximately 15 feet while on the job."

Fall from height is a hazard all workplaces identify as a serious hazard. Here is a recent incident that hopefully will be used at workplaces to emphasize the seriousness of this hazard.

The County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who died after a fall at a smelter in (location omitted) one day in September 2024.

According to the coroner, a 61-year-old worker, an employee at the facility, fell approximately 15 feet while on the job.

McCoy was taken to a local hospital by EMS, where he later succumbed to traumatic injuries.

The County EMS and (local) Fire Department responded to the incident.

The County Coroner’s Office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the accident.

We pray for the deceased worker’s family, friends, and coworkers.

Please comment.
