"a sudden explosion occurred..."

The need for emergency evacuations planning and drills is sometimes overlooked. But when a sudden emergency occur, they are needed. Here is a recent incident highlighting the need for emergency evacuation planning and drills.

A sudden explosion occurred at the green anode plant (company name omitted), causing panic in the entire plant premises.

During routine work, there was a sudden explosion with a loud sound and smoke spread inside the plant. The explosion was so loud that the employees working nearby started running away in panic. According to the information, three employees were injured in the incident, who were immediately taken to the hospital. Where his treatment continues.

Eyewitnesses said that there was a sudden loud noise inside the plant and smoke started rising within a few moments. Security teams have reached the spot and the affected area has been sealed. The cause of the accident has been investigated by the technical team. No official statement has been issued by the (aluminum company name omitted) management yet.

Two workers (names omitted) suffered minor injuries on his back and head, which is being treated at (a nearby) Hospital. The labourers (injured) have been discharged after first aid.

We are happy that no one was killed in this explosion. We pray that the injured workers recover fully from their injuries.

On our travels we will stop and ask a production worker “when was the last time you did an emergency evacuation drill?” In my mind I am counting slowly to 5, one, two, three…. We are not looking for a specific date but the fact that the worker knows when the last drill was performed. Sadly, many plants fail to have drills.

There is an article on planning evacuation drills here:
