Workers at an
aluminium plant held a protest one morning during the first week of January 2025
in which they demanded more security after the death of an outsourced employee
at the factory.
The demonstration lasted
about an hour. According to the union, in six months, two fatal accidents were
recorded at the factory.
Several days before, an outsourced
female truck driver, 47, died after being hit by an aluminum bale in the
company's yard. The material weighs about 600 kg, according to the union. The
truck driver was rescued but died.
We offer our sincere prayers to the deceased worker’s family, friends, and coworkers who was killed. We assume this incident occurred during the unloading process. We will post more information as it comes forth.
