"falling from a height while using a scissor lift ...."

The use of scissor lifts is commonplace in our workplaces. Scissor lifts come from within or

A worker has died after falling from a height while using a scissor lift at work in late December 2024.

The worker, 37 years old, had been put on life support by doctors after surgery following a fall at an aluminium company.

His life support was switched off several days after the accident, passing away at the hospital three hours later.

We offer our sincere condolences to the deceased worker’s family, friends, and coworkers. Though the news media provides little information. We did find a news article with the following quote from the worker’s widow who received a telephone call from her husband’s co-workers, who told her that her husband had fallen from a scissor lift while moving aluminium extrusions at the company's warehouse.

"I was so nervous that I was shaking. I couldn't even talk," the widow said. "I asked if he was okay, and I was told that it was serious as he hit the ground with his head. I felt as though the sky had collapsed on me."

We do not know if the deceased worker was wearing a harness. We will update this post when more information becomes available.
