Improper load
securement on flatbed trailers is a hidden hazard that many in our industry are
unaware of. Here is a recent incident that could have been much much worse.
Traffic inconvenience this
morning at the Carini motorway junction, where a truck lost its load of
aluminum profiles. The causes of the accident are not yet known.
No one injured,
firefighters on the spot
The accident, which did
not cause injuries, nevertheless sent traffic into a tailspin in the area,
making it necessary for the Fire Brigade to intervene.
Three trees fell due to
bad weather in via Lanza di Scalea and one in via Crispi
More trees fell in Palermo
due to rain and wind. It happened in via Lanza di Scalea where three large
trees ended up in the middle of the roadways blocking the road.

As well as in Via Crispi
in front of the port. Here a car was hit by the foliage of the plant. In both
cases, the fire brigade intervened.
We are thankful
that no one was injured in this incident. Looking at the load it was just a
matter of time that the load would shift. The truck was loaded with no wood in
between the aluminium. With on metal on metal, it was just time that it would
shift and topple over.
