The hazards associated with extrusion presses
are known throughout our industry. Yet, incidents involving injuries and
fatalities still occur. Here is a recent incident highlighting the dangers of
operating extrusions press.
According to the information obtained, (the worker) was trapped under the
press machine in the incident that occurred during production. Upon the
notification of his colleagues who noticed the situation, health, gendarmerie
and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the factory. It was determined that
the worker, who was pulled out from under the machine with the intense work of
the teams, died at the scene.
The unfortunate worker was legally (entered the country) two months ago to
work (city name omitted).
After the incident, the Public Prosecutor examined the factory and
started the judicial process, while the gendarmerie teams took security
measures in the area where the work accident occurred. While the occupational
safety records at the factory were examined, (the worker’s) body was taken to
the hospital morgue for autopsy.
We offer our sincere condolences and prayers
to the deceased worker’s family, friends and coworkers. The news media articles
provide minimal information. The news media states that the press was in production
and the worker was underneath when the incident occured.
