"12 firefighting devices, 30 personnel (fight) fire (for) four hours"

Fire occurring with scrap is nightmare that no workplace wants to face. But, as history has shown, scrap fires at aluminium plants do occur. Here is a recent incident of scrap fire:

The fire authorities deployed 11 firefighting devices and 27 personnel to extinguish the fire in about 20 minutes.

Earlier, at around 6:59 a.m., a fire presumed to be spontaneously ignited broke out in a pile of aluminum raw materials at the (company name omitted) aluminum manufacturing plant in (location omitted).

Authorities deployed 12 firefighting devices and 30 personnel to extinguish the fire in about four hours.

Although 3 tons of aluminum raw materials were burned by fire, there were no casualties.

Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.

We are thankful no workers, nor fire department personnel were injured during the fire and fire fighting operation.

If you have scrap at your facility, do you have a plant when (not if) a fire breaks out?
