Workplace violence is a topic many workplaces
feel only occurs within their premises. There are external factors that can
affect a workplace. Here is a recent incident highlighting this important
topic.
The bodies of two naked men with traces of violence were dumped behind an
aluminum factory, in the (location name omitted) area.
Around 3:30 a.m. one morning during the week of September 20th,
municipal police responded to an emergency call about two bodies lying next to
the perimeter fence of the Aluminios ABC company, which is located behind the
fifth section of Santa Fe.
As they approached the dark dirt road located on Camino Canseco Street in
the La Cuestecita neighborhood, the Municipal Police agents confirmed the facts.
They could see that the bodies of the two men were naked and showed
multiple traces of violence.
At that time, the Municipal Police officers cordoned off the area and
reported to the Prosecutor's Office so that it could be in charge of the
processing of the place.
Elements of the National Guard also came to provide perimeter security
while the state investigation agents carried out the processing and once their
intervention was concluded they authorized the transfer of the victims to the
Forensic Medical Service (Semefo).
In that place, the bodies will be subjected to necropsy, they will be
identified and will remain until their claim by relatives.
We pray for the deceased individuals and
their families. It appears the deceased individuals were not aluminium workers.
Nevertheless, two naked dead bodies dumped next to the aluminium plant would
bring serious issues within the workplace regarding worker safety from the surrounding
violence.
