"Firefighters try to extinguish a fire in hopper..."

Hoppers inside our factories are commonplace. But they are a hidden hazard because most if not all contain combustible material. Here is a recent incident highlighting this potential hazard.

Firefighters try to extinguish a fire that has originated in the hopper of an industrial company dedicated to the manufacture of aluminum in (town name omitted)

As reported by the (local) Department of Security, the fire originated at around 8 a.m. on Monday inside a hopper in the facilities of a company located (omitted).

Firefighters have come to the scene to extinguish the fire that seems to be already under control. The fire has not caused any injuries, the same sources have indicated.

We are thankful no one was injured in extinguishing this fire. It appears that firefighters arrived at the plant and found the fire under control. Which is great.

Then that meant that as soon as the fire broke the workers called for help and then went to try to extinguish the fire. Great job! Workers must be told to always call the fire department immediately and not to delay the call. Any delay could result in the fire department arriving later and if the fire was not controlled it would have grown greater in size than if they were contacted beforehand.
