"injured while he was using a machine..."

The importance of machine guarding is known throughout the industry. But, still incidents involving moving machinery still occur. Here is a recent incident highlighting the hazard of hand injuries.

Another serious accident at work occurred one afternoon in November 2025 in a foundry in (location omitted), where a 40+-year-old worker lost the little finger of his hand. The accident occurred around 2.20 pm in (location omitted), inside (an aluminium foundry). According to the first reconstructions of the (local police), the man, an employee of the plant, was injured while he was using a machine.

Ambulance volunteers intervened on the spot, who gave first aid and transported the worker to a local hospital in yellow code. Ats technicians also arrived for the surveys and investigations, to verify the causes of the accident and the safety of the work environment.
The episode confirms the importance of safety measures in the workplace and the need for constant monitoring of industrial machinery.

We pray that the injured worker’s little finger was able to be reattached. We hope that the worker is provided with both occupational and mental health counseling.

The news media articles do not state what type of machinery was involved in this incident. We will reach out to our contacts and update this post if information comes forthcoming.
